This is an image I wanted to do for some time now. My interests and art have been overly expanding and I find it hard to identify what kind of art I do. Most people know me for my pixel art works under the name Retronator, but I've started doing other digital and traditional works as well. This has lead to a somehow chaotic portfolio that is hard to organize.
The image shows everything I've been posting on my tumblr in the last couple years. It tries to capture how it's become a more and more uncontrollable mess with the increasing diversity. A good analogy of how I feel is the game Katamari Damacy, where you roll a ball around, collecting anything you touch, constantly growing. The size of the metaphorical ball has become way too big, so I'm starting to lose control. The whole thing is a big fan art piece, both in the overall motive as well as the individual details that make up the ball. This is very indicative of me since my most important work so far has been Tribute, a massive fan art, pixel art piece. A lot of my other works border on pop art, taking inspiration from nostalgic things of the past.
It took me only one day of work to draw and color the top part and I'm very happy with the overall result, especially with such a short production time. The bottom part with the animations took about 8 more hours of work.
