The Pixel Joint is turning Habbid to accept pixelation, it is quite sad face .. I only of contempt.
Good pixeling. The explosions look rather weird and clumpy, his nostrils are uneven, and the roses on his cheeks are awfully pointy. I like how you made the building, though.
Oh man. I wish there wasn't color-count-restriction on this challenge.
The initial pink color on his cheeks was so much better than the orange. And his pale neck..
+ I agree that lines on his neck and around his right cheek are jagged, not smooth. It distracts the eye cause everything else is so polished.
Maybe you can update it when challenge will end - apply proper colors and some more AA.
neck is white cause i ran out of colours, and you never know dickel these guys always leave until the last the last minutes to poste their final pieces
good, you have great chances of winning this challenge :D
the image that i used as reference didin't have many very dark/black lights within the fire (4.bp.blogspot.com/-1wD3NXjHNiI/UQ3ttxTHm9I/AAAAAAAALAI/Q_WfShPRNOM/s1600/london-riots-fire-o.jpg) although, YES, I could do it on my own from my imagination however I still don't have the skill to do that.
And even though as you said there are many little things here and there that I could do to improve it, I just don't have the motivation anymore, 10 hours shift make you wanna do nothing man
Hands down your best piece on this site. Good for you.
But the thing that strikes me most is some of the shapes that you used (ie on the cheek, the orange line on the hat, and the top of the fire) are a little jagged and unclean. The black shoulder on our right could also use some cleanup (both the outline and the interior shading is a little meh). The shoulder on our left could also use some refining on the highlight. It's a tad messy. On a different note, the neck looks a little long, and also the foreground as a whole could of had amped up contrast. Have the face/ foreground darker with strong highlights. Think along the lines of this

You also used a hefty ammount of pillow shading in the BG. While this does look ok, seeing that it is fire, there should be more varied values within the fire. The first result on google image (keyword: explosion fire) shows there are specific dark/light spots within the fire.I also think this work would improve if you were to make the dark grey layer, that is right above the top layer of the fire, have a redish hue. Perhaps make it a color in between the black and the darker orange? It just kind of seems like a huge switch from orange to black.
Well, although this piece does have its flaws, and could have been executed better, it is still a decent work of art. I like the BG with the black lightpoles/ things on it. Good job, and good luck with the challenge!
