Keeping with my 'running things into the ground' mentality, I decided to create some treasure chests to test out a (somewhat large) personal palette of colors I want to use across projects. While the design here looks similar to a design used in a mockup for the Open Pixel Platformer (check the forum for more information on that), I used it merely for design inspiration and otherwise created all the chests seen here from scratch.
About three hours, 41 colors (40 + transparency), personal palette, design inspiration via a treasure chest design from a mockup made for the Open Pixel Platformer (viewable at http://www.pixeljoint.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=16385&PID=174346#174346). Because I designed these with a 32x32 canvas in mind, opened chests have dimensions of 30x13 and closed chests have dimensions of 32x24.
I welcome (and encourage) comments and criticism. Feel free to use this in whatever way you wish without limitation.
(EDIT: Changed the open chests so that they have holes for the locks.) |
"Bottom half of the chests are missing the bottom half of the locks."

I'm not sure that is how locks work...
