My entry for the weekly challenge "Re-generated". My reinterpretation of one of surt's randomly generated sprites. The program really is quite cool. Props surt!
Yeah, I was heavily debating about adding stuff to the two corners. That's actually why there is a somewhat random looking shoulder pad there. I originally had two on each side, with the upper one having a blue lightsource on the top side, and the lower shoulder pad looking like it is now. So I was going to incorperate those floating blocks in some way (just imaging they floated a little closer towards the robot and landed on its shoulders). I was also originally going to have the robot be floating with claws instead of legs, but the surt picture could have been either really. And I had no idea what the heck to do with the big lump of blue and grey on the floor XD But I might just add that second shoulder pad back in.
As for the feminine form, my lack of planning and constant redoing might have caused that. I tried to make the shoulderpads look a little like eyes and added those scissor fangs in between the legs; so it looks like some mantis badger thing. I truly hope the fang things doesn't look like some bazar spikey robotic female genitalia, cause I have already shown my little brother this sprite XD Freudian slip perhaps? Either way, I still have a few days to work on it, fix the issues, and add a few frames to the animation (as a friend of mine said I should do this- on another site.) Thanks for the comment, bro.
EDIT- Added a few "turning back on" frames, like an oldschool television, fixed the sprite, and added the second shoulder pad back in.
Nice robot! Though you could probably make her look a bit more like the original, for example by adding something in the two top corners. Also she looks very feminine ;)
