One easy way to spice it up a bit would be to add 1 or 2 more loops to the animation, where you make some variations on the frames delay. (Does that make sense?) So maybe on 1 loop he takes a little more time before striking and so on. Maybe he can even blink on one!
I find these little details add a lot to animations.
