This is my first 'serious' attempt at pixel drawing. I used the Sprite Something app on iOS (mostly whilst on the train) and then enlarged the export in Photoshop. I am totally new to this, so any tips/pointers would be wonderful. I based this on a friend on mine, trying to draw him from memory, then adjusting as needed. I feel I learnt a lot. I'm not sure of now many colours were used as it as it was just 2 colours then using the HSB B slider to get shades and tints. It was originally done on a 34x34px grid.
