Not exactly what I was asking, but it was a good idea to use shapes other than right triangles, it helps make things more interesting. I would have suggested to make the squares into fourths rather than mostly halves just so that there is a better sense of light. Either way I still really like it, good job on the piece.
After I placed only squares and mostly random colours first, I thought that it might be beneficial for the figurative aspect not to chose only halves or quarters of squares as available shapes. I tried to give some sense of lighting too (even if I am still really reeeally bad at it) so sometimes I chosed to draw a line that could represent a limit between light and shadow.
Just wondering, why are most of the triangles' hypotenuses not straight?
