This is awesome! I would like to see some waves in the water though, then it would be epic!
One of the most beautiful tilesets/scenarios i've seen lately. It's not only about technique, but ideas.
Yep! That'll work just great. WarCraft II is a great example. Same exact mechanic. Every tile has multiple seasonal variations.
That's gonna be a ton of work. But can't wait to see it.
Hey, you got it in one. XD But not only that, I'm going to create seasonal variations of the exact same tiles, and set them up in the combo table exactly the same. So in theory you could create a screen using the spring tiles, then change that same screen to winter with the press of a few buttons.
"... the name kind of gives it away."
You're going to create tiles for all 4 seasons? PLEASE SAY YES.
That makes a lot more sense then... I never thought they looked bad, I just felt they were a tad out of place.. If it were in a game and I could see a character walking/slashing through them, then I'd most certainly change my mind.
Adam, the bushes do not block movement - they are the equivalent of long grass in other Zelda games (i.e. partly obscures Link as he walks through it, and can be cut down).
I remember seeing some of those tiles on your DA and loved them (especially the original trees). Glad you're sharing your work here too :3
Nice work, clean and somewhat simple. The house is great!
Thank you thank you thank yooooouuuuu <3 :P
There's not much to say about the project yet, other than that it's a wip tileset for Zelda Classic (Google it if you're unaware, then head over to purezc.com - best ZC fan forum there is). It's going to initially be a fairly limited tileset, focusing on covering everything from Zelda 1 first and foremost, but there will be a certain 'gimmick' to it... the name kind of gives it away.
Ah yeah, I see what you mean. Thanks for the critique - I'll keep it under consideration!
Thanks. I'm going for a simplistic style with lots of flat colours so I didn't want to put too much detail into the foliage... but then I put more detail into later tiles so I might have to revisit those. XD
Amazing amazing amaziiiiing <3
I really need to know more about this project.
Great work, so fluffy. The yellow/green bushes seem to be floating oddly above the ground though, and stand out a little more than everything else in the mockup. -- Still delicious looking art though.
I'm quite amused by the stylistic choice of cabbage-trees. That's one original way to render foliage!
Nothing "basic" about this tileset. Looks like something I'd like to play.
