I like the concept a lot! The dithering is over done in a lot of areas though.
A problem with it is you put texture over everything rather than shadow to define forms. Everything looks rather flat and unrefined.
I guess this is what traditional oil on canvas painting would look like if someone completely translated it to pixel art.
Marvelous.
Great concept, great design, but bad colors and shading compared to the rest.
There is a LOT of potential in this piece, but it isn't very visually appealing at the moment.
im not a big fan of the edges but it is otherwise great
just updated the bridge wall, cut some of the detail back a bit (thanks FreshSheet!) and also got rid of that weird smudge in the bottom left corner (thanks Guskooyman!) also helped to index it : doh!! came out at 96 colours, immeasurable luxury compared to what i'm used to working in! (4-bit) I'm quite pleased with how it came out, the main thing i dislike about it is the lack of shadows on the big robots : they felt like they should have been more dramatically lit given the sky, but hey it's all a learning curve for me :)
Thanks guys
Marvelous!
Don't think those tiny ropes will do any good, though. ;)
yes i've only just noticed that now you've mentioned it, i've been having some weirdness like that with some stuff.. thanks!
yes that's a good point, i had it at a stage where there detail was inferred rather than included...devil's in the details and all that. I'm gonna try it cut back though..
I think you might wanna lower the detail of the bricks on the bridge. For me it's taking away from the prototypes.
Is this suppose to have 256 colors? I noticed a weird effect down in the bottom left corner that looks like a photoshop burn tool. You should fix that up real quick, because it's adding all the extra color.
I like the concept, the details and perspective are interesting. but I kinda feel it could have needed some more pixel refinement. namely antialiasing. And in some spots the lighting makes no sense ( I can elaborate further on that some other time. Sleep is imminient)
nice piece in general though.
