In the lore of old there was a tale of a time when there was nothing but eternal darkness. Within this darkness mankind lived much the same as it does now, communing together and battling the monsters that roamed the dark shadows. Over time this society fell to unknown circumstances, and from it a new one took its place, born from the sun that rose for the first time over the once dark world.
