Im not sure if there really is a 'legit' colors for gameboy. I think the rgb values are just approximations of what the origanal gameboy displayed. If you actually had one of those old gameboys, I think they had a knob that turned brightness up and down anyways, so the actual colors are dependant on how you have that dail set (and I think also on battery life). I cant remember if the brightness had any effect on the contrast. I think later gameboys like the pocket may have displayed the colors slightly differently from the origanal as well. So I dont think slightly altering a colors value would be a big deal. I havnt really looked into gameboy color specs though, this is just how I remember it.
I kinda figured that, but I wasn't sure if it was appropriate to alter the palette because then it wouldn't be a legit off-the-Gameboy color scheme then.
