I just started spriting a week or so ago, though I am not a stranger with regards to pixel art since I made some way back 2009 and stopped cause of RL stuff like school. I made uncolored sprites first but making something with color move was really a struggle(I make them on ms paint) yet even though it was hard I'm proud to say that I'm able to do it, :)

The turtle's pattern of colors and the meaty parts were kinda copied from google images.

I've seen this site a long long time ago, but I just decided to join recently cause I wasn't that into spriting before, nevertheless I am happy to be part of the community and will gladly appreciate a warm welcome if there's any.

Pillow shading is something that paixelartists just find poor technique and borderline offensive to the medium. The public queue voting reflects this so it will be sent back for revision, k.

And about that pillow shading, I was simply following this turtle shell's pattern,

http://us.123rf.com/400wm/400/400/cbenjasuwan/cbenjasuwan1208/cbenjasuwan120800021/14765788-close-up-view-of-the-hexagonal-texture-of-a-turtle-shell.jpg

But I do get what you're saying, that central lighting is a bad way of shading things, so thank you for that info, again, I will remember to avoid them next time.

Welcome PixelJoint, 3idolon!

Nice animation. I can tell it is crawling.

The shape of the head seems a bit in-organic. The flat sides don't feel natural.

One thing I would like to warn you about - "pillow shading". It is generally not a well recieved practice on this site.
It will show more of your skill as an artist to use a more natural light-source.

There are some great refence materials if you search around on the forums.
Please feel welcome. We want to see you grow and develop as an artist. Keep working at it!
