Oh God, the shell. I've been stuck on the shell for literally months. I have no clue on how to improve/add detail there. And as for the wings, I agree. Realised the shadow is placed a bit high.
I think this is a good picture, but i miss something unspecifical. Maybe the shell...yeah the shell could be set in a more detail-level. The shadow of the wings (i I saw it correctly) also didn't placed right, I think, did it?

The edit has been made. To be honest, the only reason I didn't the change earlyer is because PhotoShop is scary and weird.
This is nice, but I don't like the tangents the wing and head have with the canvas. Perhaps you could make the canvas bigger or turtle smaller?
Maybe you can show the next step of your workingprocess with this picture. I would be great if i could see that
