In battle chess you'd have the same sort of 1v1 fight sequence and I think it was the queen that would just melt the rook very near to what you have here.
Hmm can't seem to find the exact one but this link has all the Amiga battlechess animations, some are quite interesting, may make a thread on the subject. The queen and king animations are particularly creative (king pulls a bomb, king pulls a gun, king ends up naked, etc).

Eggy thank you!!
I'll try to change it when the vote Finalize the weekly challenge. ;)
As DatMuffinMan mentioned, Fireguy's float could use some bounce. Also, the Golem's melting could use some work (it doesn't look too good to me, but I can't put my finger on what's wrong...) and the small fire puff should give off the impression that it hit the Golem by, let's say, emiting a few particles and "little fade effect" (dunno how else should I call this one) upon impact instead of just disappearing ;)
I hope this helps.
Thank you DatMuffinMan
Yep, it would be impossible for a fire guy melted a golem with a small puff
I was about to comment on how a golem shouldn't melt from that. But then I saw it's for the weekly challenge. XD
Cute animation, but I think a slight hovering bounce to the fire guy would make it even better. Love the little wink at the end :)
Pretty interesting the game animations
Thank you Iscalio.
