Am I misunderstanding? Copyrights are a very serious thing and all artists deserve this respect and its the law in every country.
Agreeing with everyone's comment about the tentacle: Why not add some texture to hide those shading problem?
I mean, sure, it's a cheap solution, but add a few suckers or scales and it'll hide most of the issues...
Or something like what you did with the "hair", maybe?

I have to agree, excellent image but the banding on the tentacles appear to be in a different style to the body and head which is a bit distracting.
I really like your light shadows and dithering technics, well done.
Yep, tentacles seem to need some work though.
The tentacles look unfinished compared to the awesome rendering on the rest of the piece :L
