These are the character portraits for Jouren and his mentor, Stroud. I plan on going back to tweak the faces (mainly the eyes), but other than that I'm pretty pleased with them. When I joined the team, I pretty much said that everything needed to be updated or redesigned, and they agreed. :) So after lots of sketches and brainstorming sessions between me and everyone else on the team, I pixelled these out.

The mentor, Stroud, is actually a spirit. More than that though, Stroud IS the grapple in Grapple Knight! (don't worry, you learn all this in the first stage, no spoilers ;)). Since Jouren has innate magic within him, Stroud is able to tap into that magic and work with Jouren as his Grapple and even his weapons!
