i thought it was a coin, but i also thought it was a little bit like a bouncing blob. kind of a neat mix. but if you want it to appear like a coin all the time i would probably give it a more solid appearance. the squash/stretch after the contact gives the impression it is not hard metal. Agree with Daimoth about the shine at the peak of the jump, it's a great way to create anticipation and gravity, as well as sell the fact that it's a coin. Overall great timing, but the way the material was animated in parts creates different impressions.
