 You can use anti aliasing to make outlines appear thicker without making them blocky

 yeah i made the outlines 2 pixels thick because i was going for a more cartoony feel, but could you be more specific when you said rework the lower body a little bit?

I agree, the outlines are too thick. Sprites usually work best with a 1px outline. Also the far right sprites on top and bottom look very, very similar. I had to get all close up to my screen and squint to tell their colors appart. Possibly lighten up one or the other a bit?

The outlines are a bit too thick in my opinion. You might want to try just trimming the edges on them and seeing if it improves them. You might need to rework the lower body a little but I think it'd be worth it.
