It's so dreamlike and esoteric. There's nice pixel art, there's great pixel art, and then there's an even higher tier stuff like this that feels like it takes me someplace entirely different.
Faaaaa-bu-lussss! Those clouds, I can look at those all day :D
Hahaha! "Every fucking building in Russia totally looks like this", I can guarantee!
I really love this piece, especially the moon aha. Great work!
I was also watching your changes in the WIP thread on the forums, i love how it turned out man, great work. I personally LOVE the clouds, they add a ton of character to the overall design. great work!
Quite amazing. There's a whole story that needs to be told here.
Thanks, guys!
@Jalonso: I don't mean the fact that they're Russian, but the fact that the way I've written "preview" with Russian characters doesn't really read like "preview" to a Russian. The reverse 'R' reads like 'ya' etc.
And the border was supposed to be more intricate, but I wasn't happy with any of the designs that I did for it. Waves, grids, stars, wood pattern, it all ended up looking too tacky.
I like version with arm lifted better, but still, amazing job
Nice work! I was following the piece on WIP and I really like how it turned out. :)
Why is the Russian characters being noticed a surprise. I took this piece to be inspired by miniature Russian enamel paintings and expected not just the Russian characters but even expected the border to be more intricate:/
@||||: Hahah, cheers. I was waiting for someone to comment on the use of Russian letters.
Thanks, guys! Means a lot.
@kuznetsowski: Cheers. I'm tempted to animate it, but... nah
If I may, I must say that the "commented" version is also pretty freaking epic and made me lol quite hard.
Awesome stuff, chap. I have always been a big fan of the impressionistic clouds, a real nice style.
I disagree,
The humans probably wouldn't even be able to see the magical being and moon watching over them.
The piece looks like it's a folk tale and invites curiosity and has a great whimsical flare that can be hard to balance, which you did well I believe!
Nicely done!
This is definitely pretty nice, but I think there's so much going on without explanation (random guy in the bg, distant moon with a face, horses, palace, etc.) that the piece becomes to confusing. Each individual part is done well, but they just don't seem to follow any particular pattern.
@Insedeus: Wow, that's a huge compliment! I had a very clear vision for this, so I'm happy if I could bring some of that across.

@d9nis: Thanks! Ditto!
