Cool edit, on the style thing, yeah I don't usually draw cartoons so I don't really have a style but I'll have to work on getting everything looking consistent. Thanks a lot for your input, it's been a great help and food for thought on my next try :)

That is a lot better, the scales were a mess and are now 100% better. My only worry here is that both characters have two distinctive styles. ( I only just noticed the seagull :O ). Anyway, for some reason my cache hadn't cleared so I didn't see the improvements and proceeded to make an edit with one distinctive style in mind. Not perfect, but I think you'll get the idea.

The large goldfish really don't read very well ;/ It took me ages to figure out what was going on at the head.

The fishs' pose is a little odd. Good stuff though.

Very nice. Crisp and original. I'm not sure what those golden floating things are though. Presumably some equivalent of coins in Mario or rings in Sonic.
