Thanks for your feedback! The lines definitely need some work, and I didn't bother with them since it was mostly an experiment on the animation itself. I know what anti-aliasing is but I was going more for the chunky look.
And ohhhh I hadn't noticed it looked that way! It was supposed to be like a peek-a-boo sort of thing.

looks mildy suggestive when his wings are closed...and I think bats go upside-down, no? perhaps clean up some of the lines as well (look up anti-aliasing), but some nice little ideas at work here.
Pretty sweet. One thing that is bothering me is the legs, they're sort of offset to the right at the beginning. Nice pixels though!
I was wanting to emulate Kevin Dart's lighting method on this, which is why it doesn't move. The pink line is supposed to be the scatter of light.
