ahaha, CELS, your comment just made my day. Thank you so much! This is as far as I got before I realized I should just focus on heads. AKA not far at all.
@ Shadow64, Zizka, Mutley, Pixelart_kid: thank you!
@ Mr. Beast: yes, that is what I understood greenie to be saying. :) A friend suggested that I have all of the characters naked, but with altered body types, body hair, etc to suit each character. That would have been a laugh.
@ Mandrill: Thank you. I posted this on Reddit and people there actually thought the skin was too orange. I'm a little torn because I think trying to go for "realistic" skin tone can sometimes lead to very boring results, but maybe I could have been more conservative. In either case, I think I could have played with the colours more, as I settled on the colours very early on in the piece and didn't touch them much after that.
Oh and you are so right about the hair. I can assure you that had I finished everything the way I wanted to, you wouldn't have been disappointed. I was having trouble pixeling body hair, need more practice with textures like that.
Robin William portraits was such an obvious choice for this weekly challenge. Very well pixelled, but fairly unoriginal.
If you'd have done the full bodies, I would have **** bricks.
Nice, i liek the Robin Williams, and your pixel art have very nice colors x)
Very well done. Likeness is spot on and the palette is far more interesting than a usual skin tone one.
The bodies are looking fine too, nice pose und solid anatomy, I would have loved to see them with all the fancy clothing on.... though, there is one fatal mistake.. NOT ENOUGH HAIR!
I really wanted to! And would have if they were better-shaded. The Mrs. Doubtfire one still kills me though.
You should submit the bodies, that would make a much better entry.
the preview!
