Shining Force 2 was (and still is) one of my favorite games ever! It was released by SEGA back in 95 and had excelent graphics, gameplay and soundtrack. KAZIN was one of the game's characters, here presented on his attack stance, in the sorcerer class. I personally think he looks more like a blonde geisha on her kimono than a sorcerer but people at SEGA might disagree...
I took the original sprite and added new colors and details to it. It was made with Corel Photo Paint.

Id prefer if he was a blonde geisha in her Kimono. =D Good job, but I stand by what I said earlier. That it could have been a better experience if you repainted it at your own imagination, instead of following the original's track =) Very nice overall, and definetly an improved in the original.
I think the weird lightning and dither are because the piece was copied from the original sprite. I preserved the original contrasts and lights... In my opinion, fabrics shouldn't even reflect that much light! ...Or everything is due to my lack of talent and newbishness. Try to do better next time. ...and My personal favorite is still the Bonsaï!
I still don't think the figure is well defined enough, and it looks like you should have spent more time on this edit in order to smooths things out and make the piece more consistent. The light source is impossible to make out, you've only dithered parts of it, and it simply looks lik you havent bothered to try and make other parts NOT look like they were drawn at a different resolution.
