Nice atmosphere, even if a bit rough in few moments. 96 colours indeed, but lots of them are similar, so they can be easily reduced to a decent amount. Perhaps prepairing a fixed palette would help in future. Besides, I like your landscapes in general.
I think you did a great job with this, but I think you could do a lot to get rid of stray pixels and reduce noise. In the night version, the clouds actually read like tree tops, because the broken outlines of the trees make them look like shadows beneath the clouds. It's also odd to have so little contrast in the foreground - we should be able to clearly pick out details on nearby objects. Last but not least, this is 96 colours, with a large number of colours being used on less than 50 pixels. You could easily reduce the number of colours in this piece, which would make it easier to work with.
