I thought about adding a third frame but I kind of wanted to make it a little more simplistic, if I have some time before the challenge is over I may try though.

Ohh, I like the sparkle! It's an exciting touch, and reminds me a bit of the festivity of Christmas lights. You might want to consider adding a third/fourth frame for variety, but as it is it's quite nice. I like how the 'eyes' change between frames too, though it's hard to notice until you zoom.

Ooh, you came up with a neat idea for the challenge. I don't feel sure about the animation in regards to it helping the overall piece, but I love the color choices and the layout of the stars/"face". I hope this does well in the final vote for the challenge; you've definitely earned my vote.
