Well, artists need advertising, too~

I don't like doing this, I find it to be rather mechanical, but if it helps my carreer...

To me it just feels like more about advertising your social media than the art itself, and thus retracts from the art.

I don't think it's inherently wrong to add links to my pages on the image descriptions. xD

Whats with people lately using this place to advertise their tumblr/FB/DA? Just put it in your profile and if people are interested they'll click it.
