These were originally created for a mod I started many years ago for the (quite fantastic) freeware spacehulk adaption 'Alien Assault'. The player heads were referenced to their original sprites.

These images represented your soldiers, and would change depending on rank, medals earned, equipment, and hits taken, etc. So they were very much paper dolls made up by a bunch of layered pieces.

Unfortunately the bulk of the work was lost to a complete computer failure, and the images I had uploaded to the internet was all I had left--none of which was the actual sprite sheet.

I've started pixeling again in recent weeks, and touched this up a tad to share, as it was my most accomplished piece from back then. There are plenty of issues with it, and I may revisit it for practice, but I mainly intend to keep it as a record of those times. It was also intended for a strictly black ground, so the aa will have problems in places (mainly the glowy-magic hand).
