I made this mockup for a pixelart challenge at the Sonic United forums. The theme is "remakes / demakes", and my attempt is a Game Gear version of Money Idol Exchanger. It's kinda like a remake too, considering the game also saw a release on GB, so in the end I tried to strike a graphical balance between the GB and the PSX/NeoGeo version.
Also the people who got GG games almost to look like 16-bit games, are true wizards. As I tried to stay true to the GG's limitations, working with the both 16color palettes gave me a hard time. Especially as the sprite palette would need to be shared with the player characters and needs to be the same for most of the game. Don't know how well it would fare with other characters besides Eldylabor, but I plan to do 2 or 3 more screens anyway. Then I'll see where the palette falls apart^^' |
