Actually, this is a much more egalitarian ending scenario than saving a princess, since neither of these two were deprived of their agency as a plot device. Also, none of that "your princess is in another castle" stuff to worry about here.

I don't know exactly what would have happened in the 80's but these days, if you ever come across two sweaty, shirtless men in matching outfits, with fantastic pecs and abs, toting huge phallic symbols under their arms, I think you can safely assume that this is how they celebrate their victories. 
Hahahahahaha I didn't expect that, but I am curious about what would happen if this appear in a real videogame in the 80s. Absolutely fantastic
Thanks. And, yeah, I do not know how to draw real guns, so they're holding the tubular, bazooka/machine gun things I imagine might be able to fire all the projectiles in an NES run-and-gun game.
