Much better =)
You know you can edit the page, right?
as it rotates in 3D space, the lighting on it should stay the same:
I agree. What I meant is that dithering really made it look static, by 'anchoring' the viewer's eye into detail more than a static simple reflection does. Some shimmering might be good though, worth trying.
Thanks for the critique! I recreated the animation file in photoshop to remove the dithering on the bullet (and make any further editing easy), as seen here! And you're right, it looks a lot sharper without dithering!
The bullet is supposed to be static (aside from moving up and down, of course), with only the arms and eye rotating, though. When I made it, I figured the bullet would be perfectly symmetrical, so as it rotates in 3D space, the lighting on it should stay the same... I think. I could try making it shimmer a bit, I guess!
Dithering doesn't work here, for 2 reasons.
1: polished surfaces shouldn't be dithered, they have hard transitions and reflections. Dithering makes a surface look dull.
2: it messes with the anim, makes the bullet look static with only the arms and eye rotating.
It's like a Bullet Bill combined with the flight pattern of a Medusa Head from Castlevania... D:
