Wow, that's really clever. I'll have to try this out next time I'm animating water!
Yep. Using the tutorial I made (see the description) you can create waves of any shape moving in any direction.
Good job! Reminds me to the Alundra game that I played in my PS1 time ago.
I'm assuming the light parts are out of bounds, right? It's good to have that contrast in detail to distinguish in bounds form OoB. It also balances the level of detail nicely. You don't want detailed texture everywhere.
Love the palette btw, and the caustics, though the ripple animation seems a bit linear, would it be possible to tile the animation horizontally as well?
Cool animation of water. Caustics on the walls is a great idea. I never saw fx like this in pixel art :) Light parts of the floor looks like are a bit plain.
Oh man, that water... and the caustics... I like this very much, and it's quite inspiring :)
yup, I love the walls and the water, but the floor doesn't do them justice
I agree on the water feeling a bit exagerrated, but yeah overall, this is fantastic! It has a sort of Zelda meets Golden Sun feel. Personally, my favorite part is the grating used near the top of the ceiling and the face spewing the water. ^^b
This is awesome! Although as Marina said it's a bit exaggerated.
Anyways, can you PLEASE make a tutorial on this rippling?
Nice mockup generally, but I do agree that the ripple of the water looks more like heat ripples. Great otherwise.
My god..... The water looks awesome, but the movement is maybe a bit exagerated.
Anyway, the full scene it's too beautiful. Congratulations.
Great water! Great tiles.
Justin, I disagree that the water ripples look more like heat ripples. Both heat and water ripples exist because they distort light through a fluid medium, so *of course* they will look similar!
