Thanks for taking the time to comment on my post here. I have to say I really admire your pixel work! It really inspires me to try and get better. Carrying on, I know the black background is bad. I couldn't find any program or free online photo editor that would make the bacground transparent and after a half hour of trying to get something to work I gave up on it. Moving on, I didn't originally intend to copy the poses from Scott Pilgrim. However, I did draw inspiration heavily from that game as it is one of my favorites and I will try to make the poses a little more "me" instead of that. I think I will open a thread for some critiques if I can find a way to make these transparent. Many thanks for the comment!
Yes, transparent BG works best on any sprite. If you do need/want a BG then give it some room.
When needed use the 'edit it' under the art to upload pixel revisions :)
First of all, take the dark background off, we can;t see the outline for any of them, which makes it harder to judge the anatomy, secondly, I can sense a lot of inspiration from the Scott Pilgrim VS The World here, which isn't bad, but the poses sorta give it away, you should try more original poses instead of just aiming to have the same one as the characters that you referenced from. And finally, if you want for people to give you good tips, open a thread in the forums for us all to try and give you better advice.
Alright, well I try and help you out as much because I actually started making my mai ncharacters from that game aswell, so just keep your head up on the forums :)
