No, sorry, it doesn't help at all. I still think there are perspective issues. I realize the platforms are round edged, but we're seeing both the surface and the sides of the platforms, which means it's not strictly a side perspective. We're also seeing where the vertical girders connect with the platforms at the top and the bottom in a way that suggests either a side perspective or a vertical construction where no platforms are actually on top of each other, but on the other hand the platforms are clearly casting a shadow on each other.
If you just hid the tiny T-parts where the vertical girders hit the bottom of each platform, then the perspective would make a lot more sense. And it's an easy fix.
@CELS If this helps your perspective at all, the platforms are round edged; the shadows are sinking around the curvature.
I like this, but the perspective of the platforms are confusing to me. From the way the verticallegs / girders touch the top and bottom of the horizontal platforms, this looks like a straight side view. But the way that the horizontal platforms cast shadows on each other makes it look like we're seeing them from above.
I agree some colors could have been dropped without destroying the uniformity too much (specifically between the mix of character and UI elements). That is also something I didn't get to play with before I ran out of time!
Realized the challenge would be due first thing in the AM of today -- not the PM. Ultimately procrascinated finishing different action sprites of the characters and minor tweaks til I was pushing right up to the deadline and then had to rush out my export and upload.
Still, I am happy with it's outcome and am glad you enjoy it the way it is in addition to the frivolity of my uncreative names. =)
Also, good names :)
Oh my, that is one nice background!
