released at "Revision" 2014 demoscene event - 1 place

its strange but this time pixeled mostly in PS - also Grafx2 and brilliance (palette)

no copy, some refs only for face expression (at first stages of work)

about 100h of work

its kind of tribute to early demoscene and games gfx (rpg like Ishar :) ) from 90'

Outstanding. Is there a WIP gif available? Would be cool to see your work process

I like the stone henge portal. Makes the portrait more interesting, it creates a setting.

The use of red pixels on the shadow side of the face is interesting.

This is really great, especially the elf(?). However, the rendering/details on the main character look miles nicer than those of the trees and grasses in the background. Perhaps this is becaues of restrictions, but if not, they just make the whole piece lose its realistic feel that you get when you first notice the character.

stickman: thanks!
I have version without, but there is a story hidden behind - i can say only that stone gate is a portal (that opens in special circumstances)
You may treat this picture as illustration from never released role playing fantasy game for amiga 500
Mandrill, Fairy, pikkuMyy: im glad you like it :) i've made some sketches before (and during) work to achieve "best" composition and to achieve this "atmosphere". As i mentioned earlier - lot of effort was put into palette - maybe because its my first serious amiga 500 picture.

I like the girl and the lighting on her. The stone henge rocks feel a little out of place to me. I think it would look better without them, but I'm interested to know the reason why they are there?

Fairy (Level 4 Deputy) @ 4/23/2014 15:21

Wow, I love this. The palette, atmosphere, and the positioning of the character really plays to the piece's overall strength. Definitely top pixel quality.

Very impressive facial anatomy and shading. I love the way you use your greens, good stuff.
