It doesn't use XNA; just plain Win32/GDI stuff. It was part of the assignment. But I did design the engine to be portable, so it should be easy enough to bring it over to another framework (in theory). Should make for a nice afternoon project some time.
Looks good. Link to the game?
"it doesn't seem to run on computers that don't have Visual Studio installed"
More likely it's computers that don't have the XNA redistributable installed.
I like this tileset very much! Also, that looming red planet/moon!
Great style and especially colors here. Would really like to play this and "explore its world".
Real nice mockups.
Have you ever noticed how partial you are to that greenish color?
ah the classic blue and orange tiles, always a nice choice.
@CELS: *maroon (you know, just not letting the opportunity of being controversial pass by)
So much 1980's goodness! I love those colours! The purple is a wee bit dark though.
And, at the risk of starting a huge controversy, I think this is the first time I've seen a black person as the main character in a 1980's style pixel art game. Cool.
The style reminds of the sprites in kero blaster. Looks nice to look at though.
