"Good call on the greens snader." of course! i'm all about the greens!!

E-magination: 256 colours is doable. but that's not very common. plus. this one could be done with about 8 skin.. heck probably even with 16 colours total...

Marshall: DUCKS! and post the reference you used to prove its pixelateredness

256 colors for pixel art? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/pixelart

Thanks for your feedback guys, just to clear it up it is not a photo with the colours reduced and then tweaked. It is hand pixeled/traced using colours sampled out of the original photo , I then reduced it down to 64 colours when I was saving it out in Photo Shop, I can put the original 256 colour version if you guys like.

You are right though about the green shading , I will keep it in mind not use extra colours for something so small in future.

Cheers
Max

Yep, its tweaked and poorly there are telltale pixels on the right shoulder that give it away. Good call on the greens snader.

colourreduced and slightly (and not too well) tweaked is my verdict.. why dont ever peopl bother to neatly clean up, AA and such stuffs! AARGH!

and why in the name of god would you need 3 totally new GREEN shades to fade WHITE to BLACK when you've allready got a crapload of greyish colours

I don´t agree, it doesn´t look like it´s colourreduced, look  at the ditherin'  You don´t get it like that when you colourreduce.

Realy f* sweet,  Great shadin' and dithering. Only thing I could think of, is her left shoulder, which look´s a bit flat.

Moonsoon, thats because this is automated color reducing.

Very good. But you have a palette of 64 colors. With such a large number of colors to work with, dithering isn't really necessary. You can make this look smooth as silk.

It's meant to look like makeup right?
