"In the middle of the desert lies the Red Castle, said to grant the most wicked wishes one's mind can birth. However, to get there, one must survive the relentless heat, and the restless Bloody Vultures, devilish creatures made from the blood that drips from the castle's walls."

I know I messed the light source (freaking sun), and probably the dithering. This was more of a training than a valid attempt. I'm happy with the results, but really unhappy with the colors.

Could have removed the sun, but left it there for composition purposes.

These freaking colors!

Edit: Removed the moutain where the castle was sitting on, and made the castle itself gigantically tall. The mountain was hard to see, and the composition looks better this way. And, as per Connor's suggestion, removed the sun and replaced it with two moons.

Nice one. I like the castle mostly.

The one thing which embarrasses me is the clouds. I couldn`t understand if the light grey was the clouds or the dark grey. When I saw that the moons are surrounded by the dark one I got it. Still I think the dark grey looks more (and better as) like clouds...

So amazing  Definitely voting for this, I hope it wins the 1st place or at least the 2nd or 3rd place.

Love how you worked with dithering.

The moons are nice there.

This is sweet, gets my vote so far! One thing that bugs me though is im not sure if the castle is supposed to be sitting on top of that hill, or is it behind it? Minor thing, really nice piece otherwise!

Great idea to use the red for blood. Nice.

Castlevania!

Very smart way of using the palette. The vulture doesn't feel quite as polished at the castle but a very, very solid entry none the less .

That's a very good suggestion!

You could replace sun with a moon or planet, which would keep the composition basically the same, but keep the lighting consistent.

Insanely good! I love how you seperated the two palettes to highlight the things which are importent for your design.

Cool stuff. :)
