I wanted to breake up the usual square shaped cut-out you see in most cross sections. I thought it would help to make the part that is visible visually more interesing. But I can see what you mean, it does take away some of the harmony and cleanliness.

Really nice water.

Water effect is awesome.

Really not keen on the part surounding the top section, the regular angles and light outline really don't fit with the rest of the image.

Is reallly awesome color!!.
The background reminds me slightly to Megaman X.

Very cool and original. Was not expecting this! The underwater effect is nice too, I don't recall seeing it done like that.

Now, there's something about the colors that doesn't seem quite right to me. Maybe I'm biased, but I think it needs to be more like this. ;)
