moi, moi moi mo-moi moi moi moi, moi, moim-m-moi!
If you ever need a programmer, I am one and would love to collaborate with you and your amazing art!
The only thing I'd say about this adorable animation, is that when they fall, the lower frames should be faster because gravity isn't up-down, it has a curve to it. And in terms of keeping the other ones in sync, it shouldn't matter? Because if they all have the same amount of total frames, they're just at an offset to each other, then they will always loop perfectly?
Nah, these aren't for a game or anything. Just trying to prep for the game by doing little animations here and there. Thanks for the tips though!
The animation is OK. In fact, you shouldn't move the cubes if this is for a game. The jump and gravity force should be coded by the programmer if these are in-game characters.
Thanks! I'm looking forward to the jam! Hopefully our submission won't flop :D
Thats some really nice work ADrawingMAn. So random that I haven't been on here for years and when I do the first pic I click on is about the Nitrome Jam. Really Glad to have you onboard =)
Man, looks so much better (I would speed it up a bit more though). The only thing is that it uses so many more frames :(. I should of done it like that from the start though.
Quickfix to give them some hangtime :)
Fixing the (now) crappy rythm would take more rearrangements...
Hmm, I think I see what you mean. I'll have to think about it some more, I may just go with a type of parallaxing effect though, since that may be the easy way out.
Thanks so much!
Good point, but I don't know if I feel like figuring out how to make it look right by inserting more frames (not the best attitude for pixelling, I know :( ). I see exactly what you mean though, they do look like they're jumping forward, maybe I could make it look better if instead of making new frames I made a sort of parallaxing effect?
Thanks a lot for the input!
To get around that, make another frame and move only the other two a bit less than normal and faster, repeat this for every one of them.
Amazing animation! :D
Very nice indeed! I don't think you can manipulate their time in the air by adjusting the framerate or display time of certain frames. If they're supposed to hang in the air a bit longer, then you need to add more frames to the animation, so you have 2 or 3 frames where they're near the top of their jump.
Right now, the fact that they're moving quickly up and down without a slight delay near the top, makes it kind of look like they're jumping forward instead of upwards. But then, if they were moving forward, they would move away from the viewer as soon as they hit the ground. :)
Anyway, nice job!
No worries and good of luck!
I hope you make it to the top rankings. More than awesome enough pixels skills are already present.
Thanks man ;D. I'm really excited for the jam since it's the first one I'm going to be participating in. Hopefully it goes well!
Dem colours!
These are absoloutely great. Can't wait to see what you come up with for the jam.
