I agree with Cels on the flames. Freaking love these creatures though. Could just be me but I'd like to see some sort of water brought into play with the castle concept. Very warm right now (which isn't a bad thing); but being amphibians and all I think some form of water could bring some more life to this.
This looks great! And it makes me want to play Dragon Quest Monsters.
I love this mockup. Maybe you can do less contrast lines between bricks.
Very cool! Maybe the flames should be even brighter? The red outline is pretty dark, but that's not a huge problem if the outlines are part of the style, I guess. But the 'heart' of the flame should be quite bit brighter, I think.

Really nice texture on the tiles and the overall colors also work well. Nevertheless my favorite part is the frog king and his throne.
