Even with a short background loop and characters on the front on seperate layers, this remains a lot of work. With what software did you put this together?
I tried to open the gif in GraphicsGale but it does not understand at all the image information...

inphy, saving in png24 instead of png8 in any app will have adverse color counts and variables.
I should have a forum thread regarding this subject soon.

Nice job, getting rid of the npa stuff. I don't know if it happens in saving or something, but the color count is still max for gif (255). I heard at least Photoshop might have some issues with saving, what app are you using?
Absolutely excellent use of pixel art to convey a story! The setting is so pretty and the colours are appealing! Wonderful job on this, it inspires me greatly!
