I agree that the elevation is odd but defered to the image for that. I think his nosepoint should be more like a harpoon.
The dithering yep, I take your point. The colours are very close. I wanted his skin to look a bit texturally different, not too flat. Guess I failed there then. :(
That was my first try at two point anti-alias. I have only ever gone for one point previously and I agree it is a bit blurry. Maybe I'm not cut out for this.
Oh and the space is for another 2000AD character....
Did you use a ref? The nose doesn't look right in comparison with the rest of the head, you seem to have gone for a more elevated view of the nose but side on for the rest, Also I think the horn/spike should be thicker and the crest (yellow bit) needs to be thicker too.
We need more pictures of Nemesis though! :) Have you left the space to add Torquemada?
I agree with CakeDrake about the colours and dithering. The highlight dithering feels especially unnecessary, it looks like noise and doesn't add the look of extra gradation.
Something to keep in mind is that dithering doesn't look as good on modern monitors as it did on older ones. CRT screens blurred everything, so the dithering looked like a blend of the colours. On LCD screens, each pixel is clear. Because of this, dithering tends to read as texture rather than as colour, and should be used much more sparingly.
I also think a lot of your antialiasing is unnecessary, you could've gotten away without it by being more careful with your curves. In particular, ALL of your two-colour anti-aliasing parts look blurry; all of them could've been done with one pixel each.
your shade colors are almost the same color, it's pretty much a waste and could be used to get rid of the dithering if you want. I don't really konw what you want to use the dithering for? It looks very inspired by the gba pokemon games, if that's corect?
Based on the image, the bit below the nose needs to be bigger that will balance it out a bit and the greens need to be a bit more vibrant.
Edit: having looked at the reference image some more I think its the black line along the outer edge of what is the side of his nose that is giving it that elevated view, I think that should be where the light green and the darker green above it meet. The dark green bit being the underside of the nose bit. (I want to call it a flange??!)
