I agree with CELS though, even the basic blue would work as an ad-hoc background (I'd even add some clouds for detail's sake) :)

I like thesmall tile sizes... overal, I don't like the color ramps - they seem a bit straight and as a result, too saturated.  The overal color scheme is nice though.

They are good, but a little dark, though that just may be due to the current arrangement or tiles.

Don't have a background, i just dropped some blue in for the preview. Would have included it otherwise!

Was purely an exercise in simplifying my terrain tiles, although I chose to go with something more complicated anyway.

Very nice, but I actually prefer seeing these tiles against the background they will have. The preview looks far better than the actual piece, due to my choice of PJ theme and background colour.
