Good work! I like the zombie-homer
You could make a zombie-simpsons shooter with zombified simpsons' characters...
@Carnivac
Haha, yeah, I was thinkin' about the zombies from the cemetery with the Michael Jackson dance I think they do. So it seems like they had some freedom. Also yeah, you gotta be right about that Kang and Kodos being outside the TreeHouse cont, I know I've seen them as well.
Heh, yeah. I was thinking just 'in-continuity' cos not sure how to explain some of the halloween stuff (alternate universe?). Do Kang and Kodos even exist in the regular Simpsons universe? (come to think of it I seem to recall they have made cameo appearances). But hey the first game had zombies and that wasn't even part of the dream level. So who knows?
@Carnivac
Shoot, even a Treehouse of Horror themed stage with those talking dolphins, and Kang and Kodos as the stage boss.
I dunno. I quite enjoyed Bart Vs The Space Mutants on my CPC and Amiga. Nowhere near as much as getting a 4 player game of the arcade going though but then that was harder to achieve at the time and much more expensive. But yeah, still I would have loved Konami to have made a sequel a few years in and featured much more of the more well known cast. Sideshow Bob would have been an awesome boss (certainly makes more sense than the Evil Smithers running about in the original game). Maybe some of Fat Tony and his men too. The Itchy & Scratchy robots from the theme park.
@Carnivac
I like the dark gray. : ))
Yeah, I had this game on PSN, emulated, and a few other places i'm blankin' out on. I always emulated this like crazy back in middle school. This game is the reason I became a huge Norio Hanzawa fan in the first place too.
Also yeah, the only source material they had to use here was the first season (probably some of the second). As odd as it is too, they put Binky all over this game, and they even put Binky's ears in Marge's hair. Makes you wonder if Matt Groening worked closely with Konami or something for that joke... since he was really the only one who wanted to do that to Marge.
They did a badass job with that game. I don't even want to think of what a western developer at the time could have done. Ugh.
I'm not even surprised that the team who worked on this went on to form Treasure.
Always found that dark gray a bit annoying and wanted it to be more black but yeah I love that old game and these sprites fit right in to the style of it. I still play the PSN re-release quite often online. The game was made real early on in the series so some of it seems kinda odd now but wish they had made a sequel a few years later featuring a lot of the regular characters who by then had had the time to establish themselves. Nice work. :)
Konami! King of the ninties beat em ups!
