I totally agree with nedink about the flame color. The specular effect is awesome.
This is outstanding. I think maybe instead of the yellow-red for the flame, it might be better with just a bright dull-gray to white gradient, and more straight up and down, like so: http://i.imgur.com/NuSXlwi.png
what am I? google images or something? I've got my own projects to work on buddy, if you want refference images go find some.
@Bohnz
Can you give me some examples of fire done right? I'm not sure how to really render flames any better than I have, and a reference would really help.
there's so much detail throughout the piece except for the one area I'd like to see it most; The flame.
The flame on the torch looks like you've gone to draw it and just said "fuck it" like, the fire itself in no way resembles the warmth of something that could produce the light comming off those bricks and tiles.
WOW . Those textures, amazing. That lighting, amazing. Just simply amazing :D
31 colors, huh? I can barely count 15... Other than that, its quite okay :P
I'm not sure, perhaps more definition on the horizontal mortar lines, more like the two places near the bottom of that piece of wall where the bricks seem to be more clearly visible.
@felchqueen
That wall really gave me a lot of trouble. I just couldn't pack any kind of fidelity into it without it being an indecipherable mess. Do you have any idea how I could do this? It really bugs me that I couldn't figure it out.
Really lovely illumination, but what's happening on the wall at an anglee coming towards us, is it meant to be stone like the rest of the walls as it looks more like a web or shimmery portal?
As a picture it's kinda boring, but damn those textures and lighting on the rocks sure look fantastic. Good job.
You're like a manual 3D renderer....! Wow!
