I think I preferred the more muted planet/moon thing that was in the forums, but otherwise liked how this progressed. I really like how you've done the light coming through the cracks!
new version has a lot more interest, i like it! if we wanted to get super finicky i suppose the moon could be a little higher but it looks good anyway!
I did try to make the moon more brighter which did not work as to how I wanted it to, I might change the lava as well.
I actually dont know why I forgot about the lines going away behind him.
Yeah I'll have to see as to what I can do about that moon or add something more into the background.
kinda weird that the horizontal lines in the background stop existing behind the face thing. i dont think the dithering works very well in the lava either, just kinda looks noisy. mrmo's got some good notes on the composition, though, and i may venture to say you should make the moon a bit larger and brighter as well, to balance the composition a bit more (its weighted to the right)
i like the little tar-like strings coming from either side of the face thing
This is kinda hot!
I think the moon is a bit out of place so close to the canvas borders though- I'd either move it a bit to the right and bottom (to either the thirds or golden ratio intersection lines) to help with the composition, or add a flying... something at that point :)
(also hellz yeah, I'm making a comment about composition, I must be SO smart and educated and I've heard somewhere that composition is a thing :)
No problem
