awesome! i recognized this as soon as i saw the preview! loved george shrinks as a kid. looking back at it though, that was one messed up show xD
Please update preview file.
Then hit the resubmit button. The missing icon is messing up the front page and I can't manually fix for some reason :/
Thanks for all the advice. Much appreciated.
Daruda - I don't see a black outline... :p
I wonder why clouds have black outlinen, when the glass over the car doesn't have them.
I loved the show...
Huge improvement. I can't advise much more because I don't know the inspiration, but three small things:
Ditch the black frame. If you actually want to pixel an ornate picture frame, that's fine, but eveyone here will understand the boundaries of your work without a black outline.
The propellor is lopsided. It doesn't need to be a perfect circle, but the shape needs to be consistent.
Let the preview represent the actual piece. You'll get less views with your current thumbnail image--the letter Z alone doesn't really invite clicks.
Gotcha. Fixed up a few things, still seems to be missing something.
You don't want to AA the entire outline. That just makes everything blurry. Use it where two lines meet to suggest a more subtle angle or to ease the transition between contrasting colors. If you're not sure you need it, don't use it.
Read Derek Yu's sprite tutorial. His final sprite is AAed, but doesn't appear to be fading into the background. Instead AA is used on highlights and shadows and some internal lines.
You may be right. I have a 4k monitor for video editing purposes, and they seem just fine to me. However, on the monitor I use at work, you're right. The color contrast in the clouds are very low. I'll fix it when I return home. Which surfaces did I miss?
There's a lot of excess color in this including in the clouds--the colors insides are just unreadable noise because the contrast is too low. You also arbitrarily AAed some surfaces while skipping others.
Very messed up. But then again, thats why kids enjoyed it.
