Alright, thats good then... (are you working on anything new)
Yo Jankovic! Sure I remember you! Yes, I mostly use Pixen, sometimes photoshop, depending on the computer I'm using.
Waddup Joseki!? You probably dont remeber me, Im Jankovic123 from piq (you game me some advice) Anyway I wanted to ask if you use pixen for this?
Exactly what I meant :)
And level designs aren't that clever either, unfortunately.
Again, very clean and carefully pixelled.
Digging your style btw..
In my opinion the comparison with the crowd of crap in mobile gaming is what makes Monument Valley stand out.
The level design and graphics are beautiful, but i just took a bunch of screenshot as wallpapers for my mobile and never played the game again.
This is more atmoshperic than the game itself.
Also, I never understood the hype about monument valley. It's just a little puzzle game.
Definitely some Escher going on with the steps, the stair, some tiles alignment (bottom part).
The corner tiles are not perfectly placed as they are not tiles :P the little squares on the floor are just decoration, maybe misleading... and the measurements seems of because they are placed in order to achieve some of those Escher effects.
Maybe getting rid of the "tileization" can clean a bit the readability.
The corner tiles and the thing with the lantern hanging off of it look somewhat off to me, like they weren't properly measured out. Most likely, the intersection wouldn't be marked with a diagonal line, as, provided this perfectly follows the Iso grid, they should be connected all by one tile.
The shading and palette choice for the tiles themselves is pretty neat, though. Are those some Escher steps I spy?
Novel! I like it!
