Super Mario Bros on the NES was great, but wow the graphics were horrible. So, I made replacements. I want to re-sprite the entire game in the long run, but this will do for now.

Those recolours at the bottom are Mario, Luigi and fire power on the top row, and 3 invincibility frames on the bottom.

This is a Work In Progress! I am no where near finished with all of those Mario sprites.

Well, now I actually have finished all of Mario's sprites. Now for the rest of the game...

NES restrictions are 8x8 or 8x16 for a sprite

I find it hard to read on the neutral big. Perhaps a peach background would help

also, having the rows actually touching pixels isn't helping

Not a bad attempt, but the readability is still lacking since you crammed some details in.
