not only it is really nice piece, but omg that base sketch is next level abstraction!

The best entry in my opinion. The dithering is out of this world!
Absolutely gorgeous colours and highly unusual but very interesting forms extremely close to the original. You even managed to point out the different kind of feathers that a bird has, awesome!
The only thing that could be improved I think is the backround. It looks like you stopped working on it near the bottom. Darker colours and very subtle (like in the transition to the sky) dithering would give the whole piece more depth and meat I guess .

The palette is a mix and tweak from this old EGA challenge and possibly some colors from Noet's 16 color palette; can't remember exactly what I did! I had planned to make a final palette check and fix but these are not things to be done at 6am.
I'm not sure about the dithering patterns, it's a kind of lazy approach. I'm thinking a more realistic feather pattern might have been better, hoping to find some time to try it.
Nice interpretation! Looks like you tweaked a basic 6-bit palette, however the vivid colors work very well here. Interesting approach with the different patterns/dithers.
I really like the geometry of all the shapes- it looks very crisp
